"Dahon", Acrylic on Canvas Paintings Exhibiton by Mike "mitu" Tupas, Dec 1-13     Mike "mitu" Tupas, is a drummer, percussionist, craftsman, performer, cultural worker, educator, a visual artist, rolled into one.. Gifted with good hands and creative mind, Mitu produces paintings, sculptures, crafts and musical instruments that are sooth after by art enthusiast s and fellow musicians... I' ve been wanting to have a show of my paintings in Hongkong since I stayed here for more than 4 years, working in Hongkong Disneyland and it is great opportunity for me to focus myself on my music..so after my work in Hongkong Disneyland for 4 long years , I have a chance to give time on my paintings, and so I prepare for these exhibit, I've been inspired of putting together the different colors of leaves and its shapes... and for every piece i made, gives me the different energy to go on to next piece, to discover the next composition of colors, shapes and its value to our emotion, I work on spontaneous energy within, and let the nature dwells the concept of creation.. "Dahon" is the first solo exhibition of "mitu" in Hongkong, he tries to capture the essence of nature through the colors of the leaves in his own interpretation, as what he said "we are but a humble leaf, attached to a mighty tree, we both know, we came from one source, though we may have different ways of growing"..it is his own realization of life of each and everyone in this planet,.. All the paintings is in acrylic on canvass, the medium that he likes to explore, it comes in different sizes, every piece dwells the emotion within oneself and captures the soul of nature through its colors, come and see it to believe...
